Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Remote Ocean Systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, evaluate, install, operate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate the feasibility and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Mentor other engineers in best practices, industry trends and skill development.
  • Read and interpret blue prints, technical drawings, schematics and reports.
  • Lead design reviews and maintain production development schedules.
  • Proficient in Design for Manufacturability and provide support to the manufacturing group to ensure hardware is fabricated for each engineering requirement at the lowest cost without compromising quality and recommend process improvements for technical issues.
  • Develop DFMEA to minimize risk of product failures.  Recommend design modifications to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Understand root cause analysis methodologies such as Design of Experiments and investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations.
  • Confer with other engineers/personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BSME
  • Requires 10 years of previous experience in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years in a senior role.
  • Subject matter expert of Mechanical Engineering in areas of geometric dimensioning & tolerances, mechanics, structural analysis and thermal analysis
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.  Specifically precision machining operations, electronic assembly, etc.
  • Outstanding Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must have a minimum of 3000 hours SolidWorks 2005+ and 5 years of drafting experience with a focus in ASMEY14.5E STD.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail.
