Shielded camera provides high resolution video for close-up inspection in both PWR and BWR facilities, and is interchangeable with the RTC-3, radiation tolerant camera, for the CVS - Convertible Viewing System.

The cornerstone of the Convertible Viewing System (CVS) is the SC-18, shielded color camera because it has been field proven as being a robust, reliable and compact video inspection system used by nuclear service companies and utilities.

Specifically developed for close-up viewing during reactor vessel inspections, teh SC-18 utilizes a high resolution SuperHAD image sensor coupled to a miniature 18:1 zoom lens. A stainless steel housing with internal metal shielding protects the camera and allows for closer and longer viewing while operating in radioactive environments.

As part of the CVS, the SC-18 is completely interchangeable with the system's radiation tolerant camera, the RTC-3. Quick disconnect bracketry allows one camera to be easily swapped out with the other.

The SC-18 has been field proven in both PWR and BWR reactor vessels for general inspections requiring a color image while operating in lower radiation levels. The SC-18 can also be used as a stand-alone camera where confined spaces limit the use of a complete video inspection system.
