The world's first compact zero-maintenance AC-powered underwater LED floodlight

The new Q-LED underwater floodlight is powered by AC voltage. That means that the traditional halogen lights on your vehicle or other application can be “plug and play” replaced with Q-LEDs. It has an identical form factor and matching mounting pattern to the QL-3000 light, the ROS industry standard that has illuminated the depths of the ocean for over three decades. The ultra-efficient Q-LED’s light output exceeds that of a 250 watt halogen light, yet it draws less than half that amount of power.

Regardless of duty cycle, the first recommended
maintenance for the hassle-free Q-LED is at the
5-year mark, when it is recommended that its two O-rings be replaced. After that, the light can go right back underwater.

The Q-LED is certified submersible to 4,000 meters, and operates off of either 120 volt or 240 volt AC power. It has built-in thermal protection that de-powers the light before accidental use in air causes any damage; the light will automatically re-power once the temperature has returned to a normal level.

The innovative Q-LED is the light that is bringing
solid state lighting technology into the mainstream ROV world. Don’t get left in the dark -- replace all your old halogen lights with Q-LEDs today.

The Q-LED underwater ROV floodlight has been deployed on numerous ROVs throughout the world and complements the INSPECTOR color camera from our array of underwater video cameras and the PT-10 positioner from our family of pan and tilt units.

PERFORMANCE - Q-LED
Lamp Type: Ultra High-intensity White LED Array
Light Color Temperature: 5,500°K (typical)
Dimming: Light is dimmed via input voltage (1)
Thermal Protection: Auto-resetting (2)
Beam Pattern: 3040 Lumens (all output is directed within forward beam pattern) 870 Lux @ 1m (in air)
Beam Angle: 80° x 80° flood

ELECTRICAL - Q-LED
Input Voltage: 120VAC/60Hz or 240VAC/50Hz (3)
Power Consumption: 120 Watt maximum
Light Output: Equivalent to a 250 Watt halogen lamp

MECHANICAL - Q-LED
Housing Material: Anodized 6061-T6 Aluminum
Housing Finish: White powder coated enamel finish
Size (w/o connector): 158mm (H) x 63.5mm (W) x 63.5mm (D); 6.19in (H) x 2.5in (W) x 2.5in (D)

ENIVRONMENTAL - Q-LED
Weight in Air: 1.19kg (2.6 lbs)
Weight in Water: 0.59kg (1.3 lbs)
Operating Depth: 4,000m (10,000 ft)
Operating Temperature: Operates in water temperatures of 0-30°C (32-86°F)
Mounting: Four 1/4- 20 tapped holes in base on 2.0 mounting centers

NOTES - Q-LED
(1)
Dimming is achieved by reducing the input voltage using either an adjustable or tapped transformer to select different input voltages. The typical effective range is from 70 Vac to 120 Vac. Using phase control dimmers to control input voltage is not recommended and the Q-LED II should be used.
(2)
Unit is thermally protected for unintentional use in an air environment. Unit will run approximately 3 minutes in air (at ambient temperature of 20°C (68°F)) before automatically powering down. No reset is then necessary; the light will automatically re-illuminate once it cools down.
(3)

It is recommended that the video format be matched with the AC frequency to avoid flickering. Otherwise, the Q-LED II should be used.
